Antar du har en SSD?
«This was removed (at least for systems with an SSD).
"Secure Empty" means that the OS tries to write 0's on the blocks the files used to live on in the hard drive. This makes sense and works fine when you talk about traditional spinning drives, because the OS is aware of the actual physical location of the blocks on the drive.
With SSDs, TRIM, and wear-leveling, the blocks are "logical" blocks, and it's likely the OS doesn't know about the physical location of the blocks on the storage medium.
So, "Secure Empty" would most often not be any more secure and would cause unnecessary wear of your flash storage (since you'd often be writing 0's to different physical blocks — as part of the storage controller's effort to "level the wear" across the whole array of blocks).»
Så, som du ser, Apple har faktisk en god hensikt her...
